# How to Set a Mandatory ID Number When Creating Patient Accounts in Healthbridge Nova

Follow these steps to require patient ID numbers when creating new accounts in Healthbridge Nova.

**Step 1: Access Admin Settings:**

1.  **Log in** to **Healthbridge Nova**.
2.  Click on the **‘Admin’** tab from the main menu.

**Step 2: Navigate to Patient & Account Settings**

1.  Select **‘Settings’** from the Admin menu.
2.  Click on the **‘Patient & Account’** tab.

**Step 3: Enable Mandatory ID Numbers**

1.  Locate the setting **‘Patient ID numbers are mandatory when creating accounts’**.
2.  Toggle the checkbox **ON** to require an ID number for all new patient accounts.

**Step 4: Save Changes**

1.  Click **‘Save’** to apply the update.
